This metal part is leaking coolant in my 68 Imperial Crown Coupe. Does anyone know the name of the part and hopefully where I can purchase one ? Thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge. Best Regards, Andy

PS Tomorrow is trans fluid/filter day and I was wondering what fluid you use ?

It's a heater control valve or if you look in the Mopar parts book, it's called a water valve.

This one might be a little tough to find as it looks like you have the Auto Temp Control, called ATC.

Before you go crazy looking for a new one, make sure that the valve is leaking. I see some hoses in bad shape, one with a factory type spring clamp. (yellow arrows) I wouldn't be surprised if that's your leak. Also, it looks like a vacuum hose that's broken. (red arrow)

Transmission fluid? Several threads in here on that, over the past year or so.

Default mode? Anything that says it works in place of GM Dexron III atf. Or related to "Dex/Merc" atf. Past that? Many options of better synthetic or part-syn atf that meets the old Dexron III specs. Including Mopar ATF+4.

Check the Chrysler FSM for "refill capacity" amount.

If your valve is indeed leaking (I agree with checking hoses and clamps first), you can see if this guy can rebuild it. I have had a couple standard ones done by him and the work quality is good, it's quick, and the cost is very reasonable compared to replacement options. heatervalves.net - Home
