I replaced the water pump, lower radiator hose and bleed the system over and over. Finally went and bought a infared temp gauge aimed at every part of the motor to find out my gauge which tests fine out of the car, has some germlin grounding short because it constantly overheats according to the gauge but not according to the infared. Infared reads 185-190 on the block. I have to follow the wires and find out whats going on because i know the gauge is accurate. I think if it becomes grounded it will peg because of no resistance in the circuit, the guy before me hacked the hell out of the wiring so next winter that will be my next project, but for now she ran for 20 minutes around town and another 20 minutes in the driveway idling, with the infared at 185-190. Thanks for everybodies help, sometimes the easiest fix is the last thing in my mind. Over thought the problem.I'm curious too. If it isn't air trapped in the system, I would bet the clutch fan is the culprit.
