VIN says it's a 400
Well done.

not a player, but if a 440 car now, love to know how it got a 440 (in service or more likely after it was retired). Also is there a CHP paper trail? (vs. a K VIN done in CHP style).

Again any event, nice rig.

Asked for a pic of the data plate, awaiting that sent these. Do these helps decode its history at all? Thanks

I highly doubt this was ever a CHP car.
I know in 69 even the unmarked cars still had the 440
This was originally a white car.
It looks like a non-AC car with add-on AC, not CHP, all cars starting in 69 had AC.
Plus many restoration errors.

dare i say then, a well done "clone".

to the extent they didnt "get it right" is beyond my expertise as I have never done/owned a CHP sled. :)

that said its "ask" suggests "real" CHP .. surely all that would get sorted before a transaction is completed.

hope it does well in any event.

The M code is for a standard duty 400 2 bbl, not the HP P code 400 you would expect. It could be a detective car or personal car for an official but almost certainly not a patrol vehicle. Would be interesting to see the rest of the build or fender tag, if it actually had the A38 package at all
