I had a Spitfire project years ago that I sold before coming here but this plane makes me..

I don't know much about aircraft but that sure is a beautiful restoration.

I know how many models of that plane I built as a kid.
Folding wings and all.

Me too I think the most beautiful World War II fighter. My dad had plans for I think it was a 7/8 scale single seater. Sadly he never got a chance to build it.

Parts are probably harder to find than a C body.
Just checked the couch and car cushions, not quite enough to buy this.

The Corsair is definitely the 69 charger
Daytona of the WW2 prop fighters.
Too bad it came to the party late for island hopping & sweep up duty. Would have loved to see them go toe to toe with Japan’s best.

Umm, it was the primary fighter of the Marine Corps in the Pacific. It had the second most kills behind the Hellcat. They both entered service in 1942, not sure what you are on about.

of course i'd try to dicker. probably needs tires, brakes, fuel costs, etc.

The Japanese came to call it “the whistling death” because of the sound the turbo-supercharger made. It was very badass and Marine Corps Aviators made good use of it. The Navy had a hard time with it initially, because the landing gear turned out to be too bouncy for carrier landings but the problem was eventually worked out.
