Love it AS-IS! These strippers will be very valuable one day. Go try and find a '57 DeSoto 3sp manual...extemely rare.

You've got that right. Before this auction was pulled the bids were up to $39k:

I dunno about the hemi, maybe a bit too temperamental for continuous street use. My taste would be worked up 383/400 or 440, column shift 727 combo & 8 3/4 with 3:55 gears out back. Nothing pretentious, just a nice cruiser with some heavy grunt under the hood.

I'm not saying that's what I'd do I was just commenting on bidders intentions although IF I were interested and I'm not I'd be thinking Hemi or 440+6 stroker and shaker

maybe even 340 or 340+6 to make a nice handling high revving little handler

Bone stock 383-2 updated with MP electronic ignition.
My $300.00 "performance mod"... :yes_no:

I saw this car in person a couple years ago and it was really done right. It is one of those cars that you look at and say "hmm... nice Challenger 'vert" and then you look under the hood and see the six and the car becomes something very different and kind of special.

I'm sure that car went for some good $$. Putting a Hemi in it would make the car less valuable.
