Customized 1968 Chrysler on craigslist

Just saw this one on cl and I'm wondering if any one has seen this one before.

Door handles and side markes are shaved, most interesting are the fender skirts

If the car was black it would look awesome with these custom skirts.
Anybody any idea what the 2 objects are sticking out of the rear fender?

I don't like the vinyl top but that's personal.

Antennas, a common 50/60's custom thing.

OK thanks, not that many US custom cars in The Netherlands, apart from the paint and wheels most are fairly stock

Not bad looking but I think he shoould have lost the chrome rocker molding.I looks out of place since he dechromed the rest of the bodyside.

As Alan said, those are antennas. The customizing term for having them recessed into the panel like that is "Frenched." On American customs you typically wouldn't see them doubled up like that (although you might see them one on each side), and you also wouldn't see them with balls on the end, having taken the time to recess them.

That's one of the things that makes European customs interesting to me: They use a lot of the same custom design elements, but they apply them in a different way.

It's a nice car. A lot of work went into it.

Nothing is worse than all these popular customizing tricks of the fifties being used on later cars. I have a list of the crap that drives me crazy.
Lake pipes.
Wide whites.
Fuzzy dice.
Frenched anything.
Rolled and tucked.
Teardrop lamps.
Oh the list goes on and on.

exactly my first impression too! rest of car looks nice in the provided pics.

I would have left off the rocker trim all together and smoothed it out but then again I wouldn't have modified it either
