In this video:
the mirror is on the dash

Was this optional?, don't remember seeing any Chrysler Corp. cars from the mid-60s with this set up.

It seems at least by looking at the previous years brochure that this application was used when the third row back seat was ordered from the factory. Seems I can't find this for 1966 cars, so maybe early production / pre production Version.

Many cars from the 50s had the rear view mirror mounted this way but by the 60s the were hung up high like they are now.
This mirror was mounted on the dash because the rear air conditioner blocked the view of the standard location of the rearview mirror. The rear air conditioner is suspended from the roof above where the second and third seats back up to each other. It is shown at the 45 second mark of the video when the guy pulls the saddle out of the back.
It was a pretty rare option.

That explains it. Cheers.

Something looked odd on that wagon interior, couldn't make it out myself. Makes definitely more sense than the third seat theory where the suspended mirror makes actually more sense than a dash Mount.

That rear a/c was something that Chrysler had all to themselves, back then. Neither Ford or GM had anything similar. Probably not as rare in TX, NM, AZ as in IA, though.

When Chevy came out with the Tahoe, they didn't have a factory rear a/c option. BOY DID THAT CHANGE! Mid-year factory upgrade kit to put rear a/c in them. Even dark window tint didn't knock out enough heat in N TX!
