I have been trying to contact Detroit Muscle Technologies for several weeks; multiple e-mails and multiple phone calls with messages left. They have been very responsive and helpful in the past with very quick shipping on several purchases. In fact, they have been one of the best vendors to deal with but seem to have gone dark? Anyone know if something happened?

Haven’t heard anything but they’re usually at a swap meet that we have next weekend here in the Detroit area so I’ll look for them and report back.

just got their heater box rebuild seal/insulation kit last week...and i had called ahead to see if it came with the o rings where the heater hose tubes slid onto the core(it did) ...prob on the 19th...they werent sure but threw in a green a/c o-ring kit for free...

Has me confused! If I didn’t know better I would say I am on a “bad boy list?”

What is it you are trying to do, buy parts? have custom work done? other?

Alan
Return parts for exchange AND buy additional parts but need to talk to them. I bought some tail light gaskets from them and only got half of what I needed and now they are not listed on their site although I know they make them which was the case in the past!

Received e-mail back. Detroit Muscle no longer making. So what I need and have not been able to find either online or at Hobby Lobby, which has been recommended several times, is the material that I can make them myself (may not be perfect but they won't be seen and mine are crumbling.) I am looking for both the rubber material and the foam material. If push comes to shove, I could probably get some that are close and do the old cut and paste game! Any ideas.

What are crumbling? I reviewed the thread and didn’t see anything you mentioned previously regarding crumbling.?!?
Not sure what your point is? I am replacing gaskets that are 57 years old on a car that I am doing a full restoration! This little boy from North Dakota is confused by the question from South Dakota but that would be understandable! LOL! GO NDSU!

It appeared to me that you were referring to something else that wasn’t in the seal kit that you already had purchased, but didn’t refer to what was specifically missing.

Regarding locale, I am still cleansing myself of growing up and living in Southern Kalifornia. My rooting for sports teams does drift towards SDSU, my dad’s Alma mater…

You can buy bulk material from McMaster-Carr.

The hard part is figuring out exactly what you need.

This is what I bought to make new tail light gaskets for a Toyota Camry.
