Do modern 300's have a reputation?

I have seen a bunch of threads, in various places, regarding valve train problems in the Hemis. Supposedly, the springs are prone to breaking, and the seats occasionally drop out of the heads. How widespread is this? I've got no intention of buying a car only to do valve train work immediately. If this is a legitimate concern, I would essentially have to make repairs right away to forestall the problem. I'm not exactly in love with that idea.

Like was previously mentioned when you go looking for problems on the internet you will find them. Working at the Dealer level for 25 years I can tell you that if that was a concern I would have warned you about it. I have owned hemis, I have sold thousands of hemis and I drive hemis everyday and I don't recall the last time I saw or heard of that particular issue. Best motor we have had on the road since the 70's IMHO.

Everything he just said, except I work on Hemis is a different environment.

Yeah, there are a lot of kool-aid drinkers on Allpar. Make an honest critique of a mopar and you'll get jumped on.
As for LX cars. I don't know how much M.B. is in the cars design but i can vouch for their body structure strength. My 14 300s took a broadside hit from a fullsize suv running a red light. She never hit her brakes and punted me about 5' sideways as i started my roll thru the intersection. Did $14k in damage yet didn't crack one pc of glass, no airbags blew and i didn't have a scratch. Had i been in my Neon i'd be in the hospital. If i'd been in the Grand Cherokee it would have rolled over. I'm in my 3rd LX.

That's a good enough endorsement for me. Looks like I'm going shopping.

That right there is as good an endorsement as you ask for. BTW I enjoy your posts on Allpar keep em coming.

Please tell me that is sarcasm otherwise my business model is really phlucked up.....lol
No sarcasm here. I have lifetime warranties for everything (body and mechanical) for my Challenger. I also get free service for life - anywhere. It was a very fair deal.

I love my 1997 Chrysler Concorde. Best car I have ever driven. I don't even long for any new car. This is a photo of one that looks identical to mine.

Love that car... I actually had every intention of buying one via green sheet, but waited as 98 was redesigned. What a tragic miscalculation that mess was...

I never did get around to buying one used... maybe in the next 20 years...
