I had the rear seat out of my 1965 New Yorker a few weeks ago to install seatbelts for the kids. I was hoping to find a build sheet, but no luck.

I was told that the upholstery is original. Does the back side of the seat look like it's original? It does have the burlap that was popular back then, but it looks too clean.

My restored seats look like NOS, burlap, foam exactly like original, seats could be redone.

It does to me. I have three original cars, two outstandingly maintained by their original owners. That certainly could be original but not if the rest of the car is toast

It looks original to me also. The burlap and twine looks right and if you look at the edging where the hog rings secure the material to the frame, that looks right too. If the covers had been made in a trim shop, that edging would have been omitted.

So... you either have original covers or a very good repo cover that was put on by someone that knew what they were doing. If it was recovered, the seats were good enough not to redo the burlap.

the shrinkage between the hog rings is causing the top to be wavy. looks original to me.

On my 66 Plymouth Fury III my build sheet was in the back seat back rest between the burlap and springs. Might check there.

Thanks for the input. I agree and tend to think it's the original seat material.

I removed the rear seat back (it's underneath the seat bottom in the photo) but no build sheet there.
