Is there a special trick for removing the door lock cylinders? Those seem to be even more difficult to reach (as they should be). Any recommendations or just try 'n pry?

There is a big U shaped spring clip inside that slides over the lock cylinder.

Yep knew that but it seems I would need even tinier arms for that one. I'll keep trying though

You may be able to use a flat blade screw driver to turn the u-clip, move it to a different clock position, and get better access

I can only assume the interior panel is off, and the door glass is up...

Thanks to all the participants in this thread, you guys helped Ben and now are helping me by leaving bread crumbs for me to follow. My 70 Polara service manual has no mention on how to remove the LH mirror.

Felt a little foolish today. Yes, access is very limited BUT the anti tamper shield I thought was blocking the U clip was actually part of the U clip... Once I had that figured out I got it off quite easily.

All but the vinyl roof trim is now off the car
