Hello all I have an odd question I feel, my car is a 75 royal monaco 360/727. I want to swap in a 440/727. My question is; with having a 727 already in place is the driveshaft going to be fine or is there a possible length issue still? I know there are big block and small block 727s just not sure if the tailshaft spline count changes between the two. Also do 400 and 440 share motor mounts?

The drive shaft length remains the same between the two engine/727 combinations if both 727 transmissions are passenger car or long tail shaft truck versions. The output shaft length and spline count is the same for both. A short tail shaft truck 727 differs.

Although it should not be an issue for your Royal Monaco, transmissions for console shift have an extra boss on the tail shaft for the shifter bellcrank lower mount.

Yes, the 400 and 440 share the same spool mounts.
