Dropped instrument cluster - speedometer issue

In cleaning up the plastic face of Elwood’s instrument cluster, I dropped it. Now the speedometer is reading oddly.

Can I fix this or is there a source that can fix?

The needle moves freely but seems to have a mind of its own as to where it stops.

There should be a fine-wire brass clock spring on the spindle that the speedo needle slides onto. That is what returns the needle to "0". Perhaps it popped out of its retainer on the backside of the speedo panel?

it appears that the metal bracket that the end of the clock spring is attached to has become detached from the back of the speedometer.

Yesterday, I located this company and spoke with them about repairing the speedometer.

I am going to send the entire instrument cluster to them to get it corrected.

I’m a little, no, a lot fat fingered to try and fix this.

It’s hard to see in the picture, but the copper colored clock spring should be attached via a small L shaped metal bracket to the back of the speedometer.
