Am I the only one who thinks Ebay is run by a bunch of spiteful bastards who deliberately change the page up every few months and have a search engine that absolutely SUCKS?

you get close to what you want, then when you make another change it sometimes takes you back to all of the results with the latest change but discards all the previous refinements?

And while we're at it why don't we talk about all the useless cr@p on there, like a million ads for led lights? And in the frigging NOS section? Where are these listing NAZIS now? WTMF

Typical, like everything else, was great when it started, now it's like going to a flea market where all the vendors are selling new stuff.

I rarely look for anything on there anymore, don't care for the whole Pay Pal thing either.

Consider that the systems are created by IT people who design to specifications set by Ebay marketing executives that don't give a rats *** about buyers. Those specifications require maximum exposure for sellers. They also have no completion which is another problem. That's my theory.

I remember when yahoo auctions used to be running.......got a few deals from there, it was easy to navigate. Ebay is now no different than shopping in a store exc you can do it w/o leaving the house.

Agreed on the paypal thing Matt.......nothing more than a ploy to generate more income for them, they are LIARS when they say otherwise.

They haven't completely ruined CL yet, but give it tiem and that'll be toast as well.

You are 100% correct except its not a regular store it one of those junk stores that you cant get to the good stuff because of all the 1.99 all items bins cluttering up the place with crap you don't need or want. The search engine is hooooorible you get 50,000 items that match ,LIE, 49,990 don't have anything to do with what I.want add a word 0 matches. Thanks for letting me rant also. I think Jer said it best evil bay.

I was pissed off when they did away with the dropdown where all your previous searches appeared. Had close to 300 things typed in. Now if you want to look at multiple things you have to type everything in. Much easier and quicker with the dropdown. By eliminating that one thing I go to ebay a WHOLE LOT LESS!!

I've had pretty good luck locating tough to fine items on ebay lately. And have gotten some pretty good deals. It must be how you search for items.
I have cut way back on selling there though.

You do know that you can check a box on PayPal "sending money to friends or family" and there is no fee.

You have to know how to get creative with the search commands. For me it is persistence that pays off, I check about 25 saved searches daily.

This is an "or" statement
(chrysler,plymouth,dodge,mopar)

You can mix them up
(chrysler,plymouth,dodge,mopar) (69,1969,70,1970,71,1971,72,1972,73,1973) (polara,fury,newport)

Add the item outside that
(chrysler,plymouth,dodge,mopar) (69,1969,70,1970,71,1971,72,1972,73,1973) (polara,fury,newport) Horn

filter out unwanted stuff
(chrysler,plymouth,dodge,mopar) (69,1969,70,1970,71,1971,72,1972,73,1973) (polara,fury,newport) Horn -relay

This is just an introduction into creative searches (can't give away all my secrets).

If you're a master at Boolian Truth Logic, you have a chance of defining a search that gives you the results you are looking for.
But seriously, how many people know what that is let alone how to use it...

Yeah the search engine for Ebay motors used to be relatively easy to manipulate to get exactly what you were looking for...or darn close. But they have changed a lot of things and made it a lot harder to find stuff without having to slog through hundred, if not thousands of useless crap auctions!!

I have sent many a nasty E-mail tearing apart their "changes".

The problem is that they made it a fluffy search, it makes assumptions no more * wild cars because they just assume they know what you want.
My searches have got more complicated and I still end up with stuff that doesn't have ALL my keywords, they just drop a few to include more stuff.

The new seller policies are a pain in the backside. How the hell do I know what "Return Policy 583402" is? Why does it offer me six return policies when the only two options are accept or do not accept.

Oh, thats good....Boolean Truth Logic,lol.
