his 1971 Chrysler New Yorker is probably one of the nicest original examples left, with only 62K miles, and it shows. The exterior is a striking mostly original April Green paint with a contrasting darker green interior. This New Yorker is loaded with options such as the optional split 50/50 front seat with a passenger recliner and dual arm rests. The driver seat is power operated. It has many other options such as power windows, door locks, antenna, deck lid release, cruise control, tilt/telescope steering wheel, air conditioning, and stereo 8 track player & AM radio. It has the standard 440 cu. in. engine that runs very smoothly and quietly. The power disc brakes operate nicely. Steering is nice and tight, tracks well and the vehicle rides very smoothly. It still has the original factory floor mats and the carpet appears to be in like new condition and the rest of the interior is near flawless, including the headliner. The vinyl top is also in excellent condition. It also has the trunk dress up package. The chrome is in very good to excellent condition and the paint still shines well, although there are the usual scratches, chips and so on that you would expect on a vehicle of this age. I do not see any rust on this vehicle, anywhere. It obviously has been garaged its whole existence and I doubt it was used in bad weather since even the vinyl top is so nice.Some of the negatives include a very slight dent above the passenger front fender wheel lip molding where the car must have slightly brushed against something smooth, as it did not affect the paint or the molding, but did leave a very shallow dent. The air conditioning does not work but a remanufactured control unit is readily available (I bought one for one of my Imperials and the climate control system on it has worked very nicely now for 5 years). One of the power door locks does not work. The rest of the power door locks and all the power windows operate nicely. The power antenna, radio, deck release, and seat also work. The tires are barely used, but are probably old - I didn't see any cracks in the sidewalls but the white walls show some checking. Oddly, there is no body code plate, but the original build sheet is under the rear seat cushion, from which an exact looking reproduction plate can be made for $75 if this is important to the buyer.
