After market chrome valve covers. I have had them on the car for 25 years, no problem.Are you sure the baffle is factory?
Have no way of knowing without pulling off the shaft and rocker arms. Just going to take it to a mechanic.Are the rockers or the shaft worn?

Could the issue be a blown exhaust manifold gasket? That produces a ticking sound.
In terms of the lifters, did you properly break them in with the molly lube? Or did you just install them and run them?
Or a cracked manifold.
Nonsense manifolds never leak.That's why I went with headers. Both of mine cracked.
