Have you used this system and did it increase off-the-line performance? It looks like the 2 barrel throttle body in my 1990 Dodge Power Ram. My 360 w/ TBI is not much better than a carb in terms of performance, although it starts more easily. It's better on gas mileage too, but there aren't many races it'll win. Hope this system is a lot better?

Nope, never used it. I was searching fuel injection systems a while ago for another application and found that page.

I came to the conclussion that it was not cost effective to convert to any type of fuel injection system. It would make more sense to update to a newer engine if you really wanted to take advantage of newer technology.

I came to the same conclusion. I'm not going to drive the car more than 3 or 4 times per month and that's local driving. I can't justify the additional expense of fuel injection.

I can. Once it's back on the road I'd rather have the drivability that FI offers. Hands down I'd take it every time over a carb. And if it would get me in the drivers seat more often, I'm all for it. IF I ever get it on the road. I've got two major expenses planned in the next three years, Gear vendors OD and FI. Be it the eddy system or Megasquirt..

Then again I'm not a chalk mark kind of guy..

From a recent post, it sounds like converting to EFI is the least of your problems.

It is, but it's been on the table since day one. Everything else has to get sorted first. It's getting there. I have light at the end of the tunnel. Might be a train, might a be a kid with a flashlight.

There's simply no comparison between the throttle response and overall driveability of EFI vs. carb.

You can't justify the expense, but if you can spare the cash it's worth every penny. What $2,000 mod makes a bigger difference in performance?

What $2,000 mod makes a bigger difference in performance?
And you REALLY said that with a serious face?

Look at what you wrote.
And seriously think about that.

What $2,000 mod makes a bigger difference in performance?
For $2,000.00 I would get all of the following done and it would be by far the greatest return on the dollar on overall "performance" ( Read: a perfect running car)
Brakes.
Heating and cooling.
Belts, hoses, filters, fluids.
Tires.
Electrical (all - including dash and gauges)
Exhaust.

That, my dear but misguided little friend, is $2,000.00 more intelligently spent on "performance"...

Question answered.

Give yourself a face palm. I said performance mod & you listed none.

I would say that list is mainly a mandatory requirements list. That stuff to me is a given and already factored. The additional monies would be to make the car more drivable. Less vapor locking, better throttle response and modulation, better mileage, etc.

yeppers. I lose alot of my tank just sitting in the garage. Then start it an move it, fills the carb, a day later its dry again. Crank like hell to fill it again. Nah gimmie FI for easy starting alone, never mind the other benefits.
