They don't need to be pro-quality pics.
 
So, NEVER a 4 spd J in production. End of discussion there. 64 was the FIRST year for the A 833 NP 4 speed trans. And yes I do have one of the 4 speed 65 L four speeds. 96 coupes and 12 convertibles.
 
Hey, 300 George,...if you dislike your 4 speed shift,...what keeps you from "shifting" to something else?
Oh, not that I "dislike" my L 4 speed. Just not a good driver. The gearing is awful. Know a club member that has had one since new. Clutch is too small for the weight of the beast.

Yeah... production, fine. Preproduction, no, still open.

I am new to all this forum stuff and I know this is an old thread to post on but I have a 1964 burgundy hardtop 4-speed 300K. 34,xxx miles in excellent stock unrestored condition. So I guess I have #14
