Fender Tag decoder

I'm looking for a source to decode the "fender tag" on '57-'59 Chryslers and Imperials. Is there something available out there?

None that I know of, from what i understand they are quite different from what they were later changed to. I'd encourage you to post it on the Forwardlook.net site. I know for sure there are folks on there who can help you.

I've collected some examples of '57-'59 Chrysler-Imperial tags to enhance my existing 1960-1966 decoder and would like to work with you on decoding the tag on your '59 Chrysler. and '57 Imp. Please post or PM pix.

I see yours is a '58 Imp and that one of the pix I sent was unreadable so here is a better example of a '59 Chrysler 300E tag--and one of a '58 Imp. I'm still in the data gathering mode but do have some decode notes found on the 'net.

632: Imperial-Crown-2DHT; 0306 Scheduled date of assembly-March 6, 1958; 302 thought to be a sequence number--the car # to be assembled on 3/6/58; XPP: White top over Matador Red; 061 Silver interior; 365: Flite Sweep Deck; 345: Heater & defroster; 467: Solex tinted glass; 562: Solid Color (looks more like a mechanical item like Sure Grip); 4445: Touch Tuner AM radio plus power antenna; 394: Rear window defogger; SRL 12623: Part of VIN Complete is LY1 2623.
