After a very enjoyable trip to Carlisle I finally returned home last night around 8:00. I put over 1100 miles on the car and it ran flawlessly and I received many positive comments. My son and I had a great time together and got to enjoy a lot of laughs with Dave and his family as well as the members that I was able to meet from the board. My knee kept me from really enjoying all that is Carlisle but an effort was made to see as much as possible.
I would like to congratulate the members of the board who brought home awards for their efforts, your cars were greatly appreciated.

For those that don't know, Bobs Monaco took 2nd place in his class, it deserved 1St. ...gorgeous! Good for your polara. ....Er .....a. .... Monaco

Congrats. Was this regular C-body class win or was it even put into the survivor section ?

I placed it in the stock 65/68 section and was amazed when I was told that I had taken second place, there were alot of very nice cars there.

Glad to hear your trip home was an enjoyable one Red. Your Monaco is one OUTSTANDING automobile.

Ellie is still talking about how fasinating your story about raising "Spirit" was. Thanks for that.

What an amazing bird! I've always thought it'd be great to have a chance to rescue a large bird of some sort. I'd have to figure out fast how to take care of one though. How old was Spirit when you got him/her?

Spirit was captured as a juvenile for Falconery. She was trained by me for two weeks then set free. She was not a rescue bird and I strongly suggest that you don't pick one up if you see one...if you are not licensed the fines are huge.

There is a huge bald eagle population on Aberdeen Proving Ground's 72,000 acres on the Chesapeake Bay. I've been told that APG has the largest concentration of bald eagles in the lower 48. Last year's survey claimed nearly 200 eagles. We have 4 nest cams that can be viewed 24 x 7 but it's on a secure military website that the public can't view. Sorry. I found an article that said there was 39 nest with 56 chicks in 2009. The eagles have the right of way if they nest on firing ranges. The firing range will shut down in an instant and won't open again until the nest is empty. Also huge osprey, turkey vulture, wild turkey, red hawk, owl population too. I live less than 3 minutes from APG and have the big birds around my house all the time.
