Another excerpt from Commando's vintage car culture almanach.:)

I was always wondering if these covers related to a certain brand manufacturer; almost unknown over here. Any sources to look for these, I got one European GM station wagon I'd like to put these over; seats are all vinyl anyways, so it wouldn*t hurt any more and you can see the actual seat pattern. Rarely saw such covers even for the door panels, were they also Fingerhuts ?

When Fingerhut was selling them, every new car buyer got a direct mailing from them for seat covers.

There was always Fingerhut catalogs in my parents house. Also S&H green stamps and the booklets they got glued to.

Did some looking around now that I got the name. Used to be something like JCW, but they're no longer in the seat cover business, only household/domestic mail order business. The name Fingerhut is the German word for thimble, so no connection to Pizza Hut.:)

Because your borderline young/old. Five years older youve heard of it

Border line "young/old".....that's different. One foot in one world, one in the other....hmmm, don't quite know what to make of that.....do I get more privileges?

Don't think so. Too young to have the fun first hand with about the same body damage than the still older guys.:)

How can anyone use the word thrice properly in a sentence and still write prolly in their postings?

You're an oxymoron. That's good thing, btw...

Yeah, you've heard of over the hill? Your at the top, the middle, in between, young on one side and old on the other. You'll never be younger than you are right now.

Look at Dave........wisdom extraordinaire today.
