First Drive in 32 years.

I was pretty disappointed not to see a first burnout but congrats anyway. ;)

And yea, the car does sound great.

OK I have a couple of pictures. I was having a blast today. I was like a little kid on Christmas Eve, last night. I couldn't sleep and ended up getting up around 6:00. I picked my new wheels and tires and then got them mounted on the car. My cousin and his son came out for the maiden voyage. He shot video I will post that later.

After the 4 mile drive around a country block. I drove here, there, and everywhere, just to drive the car, visiting friends and relatives. The top was down at all times and managed to get the back windows down too. I gave several people rides, including my dog. I think she has a new favorite car.

I made it back to my shop as the sun was setting. Total miles driven 108 miles. It was a beautiful day, mostly sunny and it reached 60 degrees. What a great day and the car drove wonderfully.

I've never seen anybody as proud as you. Well, well, deserved. You have embraced perfectly what this hobby is all about.

I agree with Fred, I love the wheel s and I love the tires. Now you need a set of rear springs ..... We are all happy for you as we all know that feeling and a great one it is......How sweet it is..

Congrats on the first drive under it's own power in many decades...Great feeling isn't it. ;) And then those rims and tires look stellar!! Love the magnum 500's, and the raised white letter tires...not a fan of the 3 spoke knock-off center caps though...but that's my personal taste.

Glad you had a great day out enjoying your car....Congrats again!!

Thanks. Yes the suspension is next on the list. I remember when I changed the rear leaf springs on my MG. It was the single most surprising change I made in the handling of the car.

Thanks. I know the spinners are my personal taste, but they will come off temporally until I’m finished working on the car. I can’t zip the lug nuts off with the impact wrench with them in the way.

While your at it...... a new set of shocks would be nice too.

The first time I dared to replace them I found it surprisingly simple and yeah, it made one hell of a difference.

I have already done that, it was undriveable without them. I watched it on the tow truck as they brought it to my shop for the first time, it was bouncing on every crack in the road.

Did you get the brakes working 100% yet?

I am actually going over either tomorrow or the next day to bleed the brakes again. I feel confident I will get it this time. I am about 75% there, just too much pedal play, but stops the car strong. I know I got the master bench bleed this time, which I hadn't the first time.

Let us know what the outcome is.
