Found this one on cl, no pictures, seller doesn't respond to my emails, maybe doesn't want to deal with a foreigner. Shipping will probably be hard to arrange since it hasn't been driven for 5 years.
Maybe one of you has more luck. Could be a very nice deal for $5000

1968 Chrysler 300, 2 door, black vinyl hardtop. 440 CID 8 Cylinders, 4BBL. This engine was special ordered out of Canada by the dealer. Torqueflite Automatic Transmission.
It is a special factory color Turbo Bronz, with a Black Vinyl Hardtop.
One Owner. In good condition all original. Never been wrecked, has minor dents and paint scratches.
Have the original widow MSR window sticker.
It has always been garaged. The car has not been driven for the past 5 years due to the declining health of the owner.

Funny. This car is blocks away from where I grew up. Now I live in TN. I called the guy and I'm trying to work out a deal. At least I would have a place to store it until I can get back home for a visit.

Nice to hear! I hope you succeed. If you ever get a chance to post some pics I would appreciate it.

This is one of my dream slabs, a 2dr 68 300 in turbine bronze (with the right options)

Alex

I ended up not buying this. It was just a bit too much damage and too many unanswered questions for me to be comfortable.

The seller did finally answer my questions and I think the same. For a few $ less it is a good deal for someone who really wants a one owner slab.

Did anyone ever get a sense of the running order? It obviously needs some paint and body work but if it also needs much mechanical repair that changes the water on the beans.

Is this a genuine "one-owner" car (as in "the seller actually bought the car brand new!), or a "one-family-owned" car, or a flipper who claims a flipper does not count in the ownership chain??? For this to truly be "one-owner", we'd have to figure the buyer was in his late 30s when the car was bought, making the seller in his mid-'80s now. The "one-owner" claim for '60s cars is rapidly becoming BS.

If that title doesnt change names, technically its a one owner car

Possession is 9/10 of the law. If the seller isn't a dealer, then it counts as ownership.

A car could be bought and sold ten times without a title changing names. That would be a ten-owner car, not a "one-owner".

Indeed, the car in question is claiming "first owner", which to me, says "I'm selling the car, and I bought it new!" Anything else would be wrong. To me, words matter. If it's a claimed "one owner", the seller had better be able to prove ownership back to the day he drove it off the showroom floor. Flippers are owners in the chain. I think we've had this discussion once or twice before.

That's like telling a woman who wants money for sex that she's a *****. She'll just deny it because she'll insist that she's a lady who accepts the kindness of strangers.

As I did understand from the seller the car is not his, he is advertising it for the original owner who isn't capable to do it himself. I think the car is still stored on the estate that's also for sale.

You trade a car in that doesn't make the local Dodge dealer an owner.

Sorry Patrick, you're barking at the moon with this.... I strongly disagree with your OPINION.

If a flipper uses the car for him/herself, puts miles on it etc., that makes him/her an owner, IMO.

I never got the "X Owner" car thing?

Does that equate to value?

Yes it is cool to say "this was my Grandfathers Barracuda, he purchased it new", but when selling a car what difference does it make.

All it takes is one owner to totally mess a car up.

That makes sense.

Not sure how the engine could be special ordered out of Canada when Canada didn't built 440s. Maybe a Canadian DEALER special ordered the car with that 440. Which brings us to the question of "How did it get into the U.S?"
