Welcome, nice score! Love the interior and it sounds like you know what your doing as far as body work goes (not my strong suite.) Good luck and keep us updated on the progress. I have to ask, is that a stock mirror on the fender?

Thanks, I won't be working on it until the spring so right now I am formulating the game plan and trying to get some parts. The mirror isn't stock and wasn't standard until 66 or 67 as far as I know. The original "Accessories" catalogue that also came with the car shows "door mount mirror" as optional (right, left, remote) and they were all round mirrors. My guess is the original owner's husband installed it, or had it installed, and preferred the fender mount and more mirror space. It's not too bad to drive with but remote would be nice.

Hey Peacedog. Looking at your pics of your ride. Like it a lot! I think you mentioned about antenna and speakers along with the radio? I have both. tell me what you have missing and we can save a lot on shipping with your radio. Especially speakers. I have a lot of NOS speakers, but part numbers on speakers are terrible. Give me the size of the speaker you need and I can throw it in the box. You were great on the radio deal, here's a speaker. Have pre 68 antennas too, but can't throw those in on the deal.

Well, I need everything except antenna and radio now. So, speakers, brackets, grilles, supports, floor control. The front speaker is apparently a 4"x10" and rear 6"x9". The part numbers I have so far are:

Speaker, Front : 2497-394
Speaker, Rear : 2472-603
Foot Control Switch and Cable : 1819-409
Front Speaker Mounting Bracket : 2497-788
Rear Speaker Grille : 2291-876
Brackets : 2490-870 & 2490-803


I am not sure about the speakers yet because I can't see a 50 year old car speaker being all that usable... but it could happen I guess. As for this other stuff, I can't really say what any of it looks like yet... still trying to dig up a diagram.

Sent your radio out today and threw a footswitch in the box. I don't think you can use it with this radio, but I'm not sure.

Thanks for the foot switch, I've never seen one before that I can think of so was just really going by the parts catalogue. I'll let you know if it works.
