Just curious, is this a Canadian Monaco?

By 71 they weren't built In Windsor anymore . I think the Question is was it built for Canada? C in the order number ?

No A/C :BangHead:

It seems to have a very rare am/fm stereo radio with the tunnel mounted cassette player as well - I have never seen this set up on any Dodge Polara or Monaco.

I was told it was the same in all 70-71 models. Never to old to learn something new!

Bob, the tunnel mounted cassette player was available starting in 1971. Before that the tape players were all 8 tracks coupled with the radios themselves in the dash area.

Thanks for giving me the full run down on the car today. Based on our lengthy discussion, I felt you are the kind of guy that tells it straight and someone I would definitely consider buying a car from.

I thank you very much for both the imfo an compliment. It is a pleasure being a part of this site.

What about the microphone for the tape unit? Is it with the car? Just curious.

The car is certainly worth saving and correctly restoring. FAR too many orig pieces are already there. Including the heat stove on the lh exhaust manifold. The 5-speaker factory stereo makes it even better!

The reason for my question of it being for Canadian sale (post #4) was due to the Polara-style side moldings, when compared to what came on the '70 Monacos. A search of the '70-'71 parts book outside trim confirmed that (apparently) Polaras and Monacos had the same style middle-side trim.

Carry on . . .

Interesting you should bring that up. Some '71 Polara's came with wider all aluminum, '69-'70 fury style trim. I have one, and had another. I've often wondered if it is a Canadian thing, as both cars are/were Canadian car's.
