Ever see a Formal New Yorker withOUT the factory A/C?

I have never seen a dash A/C outlet delete plate before. Had you told me I would have said BS.
Didn't know there ever was a passenger ashtray on the dash on any of these cars either.
No crotch cooler on non A/C cars either I guess.

And most shocking to me, you got real genuine outside VENTS!
This panel has to be one in a million!

And now Mr. C will chime in and say he already knew this stuff. LMAO

My Dad sold Chryslers for about a year, in 1977. There was a customer that wanted a '77 NYB two-door without air conditioning, and they ordered it. Came in about six weeks later, as ordered. It was a gray car with gray cloth and a power sunroof, too!

I love the Formies.

Crazy no A/C or whatever Stan was talking about...

I wonder why they would have a "Right vent delete?" Didn't they want "The wife" to get any heat in the winter? Give her the"Big freeze." Lol! ...Or the ventless window for that matter. If the car came without vent windows it would be pretty hard to keep the side window clear of fog.

I have to admit, that passenger side dash ashtray is another first for me. Never seen nor heard about one before this.

Back in '97 I moved from living in an apartment downtown to a house in a suburb. I didn't have a daily driver while living downtown so I had to get something, but because I just bought the house I was broke, so I needed something cheap. I ended up buying a '78 Olds Delta 88 fullsizer. Being a Canadian car, it didn't have A/C. The setup for it was similar. Except they needed to design 2 different blockoff plates as the left and right sides of the dash used different types of vents with A/C. They kept the center dash vents operable but with fresh air only. They also had kick panel fresh air vents operated with cables under the dash. I guess until they made A/C standard, they had to tool up for the handful of people who would order a model without it.
