For The Anally Obsessed Formal New Yorker Detail Buffs.

I have to admit, that passenger side dash ashtray is another first for me. Never seen nor heard about one before this.

Well, this NY is a 74/75...so you could low option one without PW and they would give you the Newport lower door panel and lower dash, with the ashtray.
If you got PW, then you got the Imperial lower door panel with the mini console/ ashtray and Imperial lower dash without the ashtray (because it was in the door).
From 76 on, the NY could no longer be optioned this way and the NY inherited all of the Imperial goodies.

So there were at 4 lower panels.
One with Parking Brake release only.
One with Passenger side Ashtray only.
One with neither......
One with both.

Hmmm, I would say two:
One with parking brake release and ashtray (Newport/ T&C)
the other with nothing (Imperial).

I don't recall ever seeing parking brake release without the ashtray or the ashtray without the parking brake release on a Chrysler...but I am getting older. Or were you talking Formals in General? (including Dodge and Plymouth) In which case, you are correct-there were four.

Wasn't the NY'er and Imp the only formals without a parking brake release handle? All the rest of the formals had them?
