Technically it was a hit and run but witnesses called the police and reported it. The truck that hit me was owned by the store I was shopping at.
The irony is I had been trying to sell this car for quite a while and wasn't getting any interest at all. After the wreck, my settlement with their insurance was about double what I had been trying to sell it for and I got to keep the car. I ended up selling it about a month later and even with the damage, I still got my original asking price. Seeing an old car hit like this is upsetting but from a financial viewpoint I wish they had hit some more of my cars.
