Forgotten, Abandoned, Back Yard Hoards, and Project Purgatory Cars

All Chevy today.

This 56 has been sitting like this for about 20 years now. It's an older restoration from the 80's. A friend of mine did the body/paint work back then. It's an original V8 & 3-on-the-tree car, all original with the exception of a white rolled and pleated interior. It's for sale, $15K firm. They have quite a few other cars sitting around like an 80 Trans Am pace car and a tri-five wagon that I know about.

More from this week. I should probably figure out a way to document where I'm taking these pictures in case I need to revisit one some day.

detmatt , i like them all ready , they should be a standard offset of 3/4'' pos . that 3/4'' to the out side , adds to the track width of the cars tires over 0'' offset . now how clean are the lug holes , should be just better then 11/16'' for the shank of the lugs to slide through . not wallow in . i've owned at least 2 thousand americans in my time . could buy them by the p/u load for years . had a stack of 450+ at one time . at swap meets i'd lay them out , had guys shoot pics that ended up in magazines . still got a few hanging out , all ways looking . my passion is the real mag ones , have about 100+ of them . pics of some . sold my m&h's , but still got a stacks . need to shoot them all , one day , lol . 15x8 200s,15x8 trans ams,15x18 libras 18x4 1/2 18x6 1/2 indy/sprint/bonnie rims,16x10's w/m&h's,16x13 w/gy's this is just some of the real deals . more pics later .

The place where I got my CHP car, he probably has 20-30 big block b-bodies, none for sale.

Just across the hood of this Charger is a 69 Polara 4-door hardtop with a 360, I'm sure it is for sale, (parts car at best).

I have more pictures but rather not post too much.

Might you hazard a guess as to why that is? Not going to be the tried and true "I'm going to restore then someday" thinking?
Life, trying to run a farm, and keep a full time job. He recently retired from the school district.
He has some drivers and survivors, I believe a 4-speed 69 Hemi Super Bee survivor that hasn't been driven in years. Seams like each time I drop by I descover another car tucked away in a barn.

Most of the field cars are parts cars or an ambitious restoration, comparable to worse than my CHP car.

41' or 42' Studebaker. If I had the money or lost one of my current projects I'd look into this one.

This 67' Camaro looks like it's last ride didn't go so well.

One of them "factory experimental geometry" cars. Big bucks.
It looks like the nose is wedged down and the top has been reshaped. Chevy's attempt to get a jump on the "winged wonders"?

Great thread... seems like good time to re-visit the graveyard. At this farm property near me in Vermont, there's between 150-200 cars, trucks and vans from 40's to 90s. Practically nothing is restorable (except maybe the Rambler fastback, and a few others) but EVERYTHING is for sale. These few pics actually do not do justice to JUST the Mopars on this property, there's every make and model imaginable here...

That 1960 chevy sedan delivery is extremrly rare. I had a 1960 el camino...

X-frame Chevys are some of the first cars that grabbed my attention when I was a kid (I have 2 64' now). I've seen maybe 2 of the delivery wagons over the years and 1 60' Nomad. I know of 2 X-frame El Caminos around here in case you're feeling the itch:lol:,a nice driver and one that's been on a rotisserie for 3-4 years now. I think it's an abandoned project now, I'll add it to this thread the next time I go by it. If only I had Leno's abilities...

Here's what I found this week. A nice Chevy truck sitting outside of what appeared to be an elderly woman's house. It looks like no ***-monkey has had the chance to mess this one up yet.

Then less than a mile away I spotted this. Clearly not an abandoned project but I figured you guys would appreciate a Mopar. What year is this one and what details tell me that?
