Too bad that 440 4 speed wasn't in a GTX, then it would be a steal at 50K.

I have 3 cars stuffed in a 2.5 car garage. My 300L sat across the back for a few years and I had the 65 SF to the front for some attention, I vowed to get it running again. It had been sitting for awhile, and when I started it up it had a bit of diesel-type noise that turned out to be some stuck lifters. Got those cleaned and put back in place and it ran pretty quiet except for some odd noise at the tailpipes. Diagnosed that as a burned exh valve. Got that addressed but need to put the head back on. Then winter hit.


So in comparing the SF and the 300L, the L needed much less attention to be driven, so the 65 SF got swapped to teh back of the garage again. The SF needs more than I have time for, and it would take about $5000 of work to turn it into a $4000 car. I cannot sell it as-is because I fear it would be at risk of getting parted out. And other life priorities get in teh way of it. And that's my history of this car - it was the first car I bought, and I worked on it for about 2 years, then better cars needing less work kept popping up and moving to the front of the line. But at least I've given it sanctuary.

Why is it me who always posts the ridiculously expensive c-bodies, ha ha. I again think like the green '67 VIP that I posted, this 'vert is worth $20,000-25,000. Here is some history that us fellow c-body folks know about the car, paging @ayilar.......

1) The car is VIN PM27T0D126821

4) It is one of very few "T" code 440 Furys to exist.

THIS TIME we know.......

1) The car was posted 4 weeks ago now according to the Facebook ad.

2) The car is now located in Fair Lawn New Jersey

3) The car went up about $25,000 in price to $50,000.

4) There is not much information about the car, it just says and I quote from the ad below.......

1970 PLYMOUTH - FURY III 440 4, 21/2 stain steel exhaust. Runs just perfect!! (not a laser - there was not Fury on MKP) Call for more info.

Everyone thinks they have a Hemi Cuda these days with these ridiculous prices. We are not, repeat, not, paying for your girlfriend's boob job and post op rehab in St. Lucia.

There are 'plain' Fuseys out there with $15k asking prices, this is a 440 'vert for only 10k more.
There's a similar-looking blue '70 Fury 'vert with N-code and a torn seat for a $45k ask - yes, that's crazy. (although perhaps that seat got fixed with mis-matched vinyl, IIRC)

The Fury and Polara convertibles pull more $$ than a comparable Chrysler.
This is one of the rarest Furys to find.

Ordinarily I'm on the lower end of prices, but I think this asking price is reasonable if it passes an in-person inspection.
 
I reached out to the seller. He is not forthcoming with information regardless of the conversation he regurgitates what the ad says and nothing more.

Looks to me like he's got a bunch of cars listed, including another Fury vert. His reviews are pretty bad. Facebook

I'd say he's selling cars on consignment and probably knows nothing more than that. I see a drop from $39K to $25K. If he does own it, he's probably had it for a while and looking to get that $25K back that he paid for it 3 years ago.

It's a nice car though and probably worth looking at. $25K is reasonable, but I'd be cautious with him. The car needs to do the talking.
 
I was looking at the custom '60 Pontiac he has and it hit me that the Pontiac was in the background on the first post in this thread.

So, that car has been in his inventory for 3 years.... Sales at $50K, then $39K didn't happen, so I'll say he's now looking to get his money out of it.

I looked through his feedback last evening. It was not in his favor but the new Dave tries not to spread bad news.
