Fuel gauge?

I think this issue came up before on fuel gauges. My 68 300 had new tank, sending unit and updated voltage limiter. I unhooked sending unit and grounded it. Started car and fuel gauge went to full. Went and filled up tank and gauge only goes a little over half. I dont know if there was any adjusting to do on the float or not, this was my first tank replacement. Dont really want to pull out sending unit again, I can live with the low reading. Any ideas?, will it be ok like it is? Happy Fathers Day to all fathers tomorow!

You can adjust the sending unit. You need to remove it, but not the tank if you don't mind working on your back.

If you choose to adjust the sending unit you will need to bend the arm down just a tiny bit, like a 1/16th on an inch.
