Any ideas if a B body pickup would work? I'm looking to get a 1/2 inch diameter but don't want to put a bung hanging out the bottom.

I made my own by modifying a factory pickup. It was pretty simple actually. I don't have pics as I did this back in the 1980's when I was actively drag racing my Fury. I carefully pried the fuel level part off of the OEM sender (it was spot welded on) and then cut the old fuel tube and gently pried it out of the mounting plate. I used a large punch to enlarge the opening in the mounting plate to fit a piece of 1/2 inch steel tubing. For the pickup tube, I made it as straight as possible (gently bends) and extended the opening further back in the tank (for acceleration). I didn't have anything to put over the end of the tube but I put a slanted cut on the end and flared it as much as I could. (Not certain the last part was even necessary) I used hose clamps to mount the gauge sender back in place (no access to a welder back then) and I soldered the tube where it went through the mount plate (just to seal it) but probably could have used gas tank sealant. It has been working great ever since, even the gauge still works.
When you drag race a hot rod a 65 fury, you need to be creative, then and now.

Thanks for the reply. I know it can't be too bad, it's just that,my afternoon projects seem to segway into 3 day benders.
I see 521 is making a 1/2 pickup for a B, having the 65 Fury I get excited that something ootb might work once in a while.

The Fury has a 25 gallon tank and the 65 B has a 15 gallon tank. Not certain the sender would be accurate or if the end of the pickup tube would reach far enough.
