Furyous

Bummer but at least you made the Semi's. This was the 3.08 rear that you were changing anyway?
At least you made passes this year, mine is not making it, too much life getting in my way. I did come up with a solution to fix my compression ratio a bit and make the cam work harder.
Yep it was the 3.08 old high mileage Sure Grip I stuck in the car just to if it would run decent before I forked out a lot of $$$ on a good set of gears with a spool. Like you life gets you tied up & just never had time to get to the gear. Still haven’t installed the distributor I bought from Halifax Hops. When I pull the center I’ll confirm it’s a 3.08 & not a 3.23 I really want to put a 3.55 spool in it because the car has been deadly consistent making just one shift at 5500. The 3.55 should get it off the line a bit better. I also have plans to shed some more weight off of her this winter. Next season has potential.

I need to contact him and buy a point distributor for my car. I am done with this electronic ignition, the heat soak hard start issues have plagued this car for the day I installed it and even though every piece has changed it is still present (never had these issues with points). Since my Charger has been on the road with a cobbled up distributor on points. After 5000 mi it still starts in a revolution or two, even on a blistering hot day and a half hour of heat soak it lights right up after a couple of seconds. I'm putting my 70 back on points.
I'll get some passes in this year with my Challenger at the end of September @ PID reunion at Keystone Raceway.
Keep us up to date on weight savings.

Yea FURYIOUS suffers from heat soak starting issues. Every big block MOPAR I’ve owned has. Do you have a mini starter. I hear they help with that by spinning faster. That 440 Dodge pick up I had ran a mini starter & it was a lot better.

No, I have to pull the header to change it and not high on the list. It has a 900 amp AGM battery in it, it spins plenty fast. There is something wrong in the electronic wiring (everything else has been changed). Points don't scare me and for the 1000 mi. I put on the car every year they will work fine.

you have to keep the heat off the carb , it must be isolated from that heat raiser running under the carb through the intake . its only good for themo choke anyway , here is what i did , intake gasket without heat raiser ports , spacer under the carb as follows gasket alum 1/16'' thin spacer and repeat three to four times then a base carb gasket again . this stack removes the heat through those alum plates the does not transfer the heat up in to the carb , there for no vapor lock . and yes i use a mini starter as well .

oh ya i drive it as a driver , any time , anywhere . rain or shine . and the cam is hot , well i can't keep paint on the primer tube off the heads , hp 383 906's 470/270 @ 4 deg , eddy rpm with an afb , 1 3/4 headers it lumps , lol . it killing another 727 , blow the sh...t out of one already , even broke the park pin . this ones catering on a hard start . good time to change my transportation , lol .

Yea I hope to put a Mini starter on mine this winter. And a heat shield. That should help mine return to normal

heat shield ! man its so close to the freeze plug the connection nut is in the hollow of it , you need to pull the cable connection any from it . sorry no good pics . and i put all my ride ground cable to the starter mount . its a best place for it . all also run a large cable back to the starter relay . oh and yes my battery cables are 0/1 welding cable for ground on an arc welder .

Yeah it is not the carb. I've had 3 different ones on there, spacers, aluminum intake with crossover blocked, you can still touch it at any time. Plus heat soak has nothing to do with next morning start in not hot weather. Still cranks and cranks, has gas, blah blah blah. I believe I am the victim of cheap Chinese parts that have become the norm especially with a antiquated system that is not GM based. I gain nothing with the electronic ignition. It will be for sale on a table at Carlisle next July if your interested.

Yea I’ve run welding cables on race cars WAY back when my buddy built a round track car

That’s true. I read a lot of complaints on the MOPAR Performance ignition kits. Chinese crap

Not a bad launch for a heavy car with a 3.08 gear. FURYIOUS is planting that slick. Even has a little wrinkle. On this pass she had a 1.91 60 ft & a 13.20 ET trapping at 4300. An awful lot left in this car.

Man, that car is begging for 3.91 gears. I would think high 12s with them. You have to count those teeth on the rear coming out. 3.08 makes no sense, has to be 3.23.
If it were my car I would put 4.88 with all the 1/8 mole tracks you run.
