This here is a story about having the right left over parts at the right time. At this years Chicago World Of Wheels my wife & I spotted this Neon print by artist Thom Sansoucie. It really lights up on it own, though a small spot light is even better. It’s sized to fit a cheap black Walmart frame but we wanted something different. That’s were the Beautiful Stainless Steel trim from from the ‘65 Chrysler 300 lent itself. It is a Plymouth sign but the graceful look of the trim adds some grace and punch. You will see soon.

By cutting 1/4” plywood into strips the trim snapped over and locked in. Simply 90* angle brackets secured the frame. A piece of glass was cut and black glued on the frame. Now, that this project is complete, on to next crazy whim. Thanks for looking and thanks for the platform.

Love it!

Man I’ve been looking for that exact trim for 15 years!:BangHead:

:poke:

Looks great, but I would've struggled to cut the trim up.
These parts were used, not out of disrespect, but as an accolade to the boldness of Chrysler cars. Several ‘65s have been repaired using other trim parts & clips I had. One in Finland that is shown below and another here in Illinois.
The fact is that by happenstance these parts came my way. It’s a thrill to connect a part with a person or a use. It is a good bit of work and a challenge to creatively ship some of these parts. But they do have to go, like kids, can’t stay here forever.
The ‘62 300 is in Sweden and is wearing a rear bumper from me. By the grace of god the arrangements fell into place. From a suggestion for shipping from this site, to Bo at Copperstate cars in Arizona, to me waiting 4-5 months before I got a message from the lady 300 owner that it arrived and is beautiful.
This site has been like going back to jr. high school. Mixing it up in a little scrum, but finding the help needed. A good ribbing or poking means at least your noticed. And maybe you’ll fit in. So I guess these posts are a get to know me a little better tale.
Photos of more parts that went to Wisconsin and the old me when the Mopar Madness grabbed hold. Yikes
