Didn't want to jack his thread.

The shackles on my 76 NYB point up.
Should I swing them 180 so that the point down?

I would flip them over. The spring should be below the shackle mount. Not on top of it like it's mounted here.

I'am wondering if the previous owner, or someone who worked on it was trying to get more lift out of the springs, and that's why it's flipped up.

Why increase the rear height are you stuffing slicks under there? What does the FSM show.

It shows the leaf spring above the mount.
