Can someone point me to a gas cap interchange list for 65 Dodge (2HT). Guess the rubber gasket on mine isn't sealing well, buddy told me he cold see dripping when I accelerated (hmmm . . . maybe that's why I'm getting 8 mpg). Anyway, don't have to have NOS . . . Stant, etc would be fine. Internet isn't helping much . . . according to them, everything "fits 65 Dodge"! I do believe it's non-vented.

Thanks! -AJ

'65 Dodge should be a non vented cap if the car has Federal emissions. The Stant number should be a G32.

Do believe the 65 Polaras used a non-vented gas cap. Unless of course it's a station wagon, in which case it is indeed a vented cap.

Thanks for the info . . . that seems to be the number that popped up the most in my research. Just walked out to the garage to check . . . someone had put on a cap stamped "GT-51 NOT VENTED". Wow, something you don't ever really think much about . . . when it works!

So, now we're thinking only vented on S/W, and non-vented on all other styles?

The '65 Dodge did use a non-vented cap, I corrected my first post. The Stant number I gave you should still be the correct one, but check to be sure it is the correct non-vented cap.

The '65 sedans still had a vent hose for the tank, so they did not need a vented cap. Hope my memory is correct on this. The fill location on these cars would spill fuel going up a hill or on hard acceleration so they went with the vent hose and a non vented cap.

Can you just fix the gasket? On my 66 wagon I just cut a new one out of an old innertube, works fine.
