All you Michiganites, what's the consensus on this museum outside of Kalamazoo?

Thanks in Kalamazoo for a week with days off. Will plan on a couple, Detroit has the Ford Museum.

I've been to the Gilmore and The Henry Ford and recommend them both highly.

I have never been to the Gilmore, I haven't been to the Henry Ford in about 12 yrs. Always been great and not just cars. I guess they now have the Golden Rod land speed car.

Here's the Golden Rod at the Ford museum in 2015.

We also visited the Gilmore in June of this year. A world class facility........ Must see. It should be a destination and not just a side trip.

Sounds like you are talking about the "Mopars at the Red Barns" show?? If so, I agree it is a very nice Mopar show. 350 - 400 cars is no exaggeration either.

The "Golden Rod" is of special interest to me because I'm married to a Summers. Her family had relatives of the same name that moved to Southern California back in the 30's and 40's but because of the distance, they didn't keep in touch much and eventually not at all. So I've always wondered if the "Summers Brother's" of Golden Rod fame are somehow related to my wife's family. The area where they were located was pretty much the same area that her relatives moved to back then. Probably never know one way or the other now.

All they had was a Chrysler, a 59 Imperial, Desoto Airflow and two of my other favorites a super charged Auburn 851and a Boat tail Auburn are there. Definitely a chrome overload. Also a Pierce Arrow Travel Lodge for Bluefury361, cheers. Definitely take time to stop not many ma mopar cars, but a great collection of cars.
