Good Day/Bad Day at the 'Ol Dealership

They need to go back to the old "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" way of doing things.
Right on, brother.

Cracked windshield, bent bumper, lift....your truck just blends in now. Just cover it in mud.

Just give me a baseline entry level loss leader 1500. Even check off a couple of" deletes". Print up a fake diploma and get the $500.00 "Recnt College Grad" rebate...
$19,995.00? What do you think?

Seriously, I would love to grab a Dart with a stick, build the meanest mo-fo engine just short of a lethal explosion, and beat the piss out of it chasing Ricers.

My oldest Daughter has a 2015 Dart GT and loves it. Just the right size for her bombing around the city. The youngest wants one for when she graduates University next year...I told her they don't make them anymore but not to worry there will still be new 2016's around next year...

It's a great car. The entire FCA Marketing Department should be fired for mishandling that car. Or did Sergio screw it up.

The product plan is signed off at the top so...

By over contenting the SXT and under contenting the SE (No AC) and misjudging the market price they killed the car before it even landed at Dealerships. We needed a $19900 car with auto/AC/PW/PL what we got was a dual dry clutch turbo'd $30000 car. On paper the design and option list was extensive but way out of its price class. The lessons learned with the Neon were not used in the Darts case. Maybe the Mexican Neon will make it across the wall...

Sounds like a good place to start a demolition derby, or has it already started?

Sorry Doba... Stevie Wonder Driving Academy graduate?

Of course he stayed away from the 300... didn't you publicly flog, beat and humiliate the last one before firing him?

Neons were great little cars handled on rails with crap tires. Lowered, fart canned, and super winged the Boyz liked them, girls thought they were cute, and the SRT 4 was what most wanted to move up to. Of course Daimler who was more interested in raping and pillaging the company decided to let Hans and Franz who have been sitting in the back corner of the marketing Dept. For 30 years pitch a concept for a car to replace the successful Neon, the Dodge Caliber such a turd no one even wanted to pick it up and flush it. Good thing Daimler decided to try and squeeze a little more money out of a aging taxi sedan chassis (the 190) and lower it out a big pushrod V8 in it and sell it not realizing that they stumbled onto muscle cars 101.
Fiat could be better, but Daimler was the worst, sucks their is a almost 10 year period of Chrysler that I just can't bring myself to own, maybe when they become real beaters.

Well it was partly my fault as I parked behind him....30 feet behind him! We use a Promaster City Van as a Parts Delivery vehicle. He had some long parts boxes in the back so the doors were not closed completely. He used the back up cam to reverse and as it was pointing at a different angle he didnt see my truck... why he was using the camera and not his mirrors Ill never understand.

Those were dark days indeed. We could see the destruction of Ma Mopar from the inside out occurring right before our eyes. It made no sense to us back then as we had just come off several great years with the LH platform and the T300. The PL Neon was doing well and Jeeps were hot. We had a complete lineup that was doing very well but someone decided we needed to become a Global company to survive and without the capital to expand we needed a Sugar Daddy and as we all know that usually ends in someone getting screwed. Funny how we handed over 9B in cash to Daimler for the honour of being merged...

Also funny how Daimler managed to keep the 3 pointed star very separate almost knowing they were sending quality down the tubes. Ill bet I you 95% of John Q Public would consider a MB to be a quality product and a 2007 Dodge Charger a POS. They did a good job separating their star cars preparing for the collapse/dump.
Good news is the 2011s are 6 yo another 4 years they will be in last owner territory about the time my 300m will be falling apart faster than I can put it back together.

You guys are hitting on all the reasons why there are Fords sitting in my driveway these days. Not that they are perfect, but the alternative was to start looking at foreign cars....

Here in Syracuse, DB sold off Chrysler's New Process Gear division to Canadian owned Magna who moved everything to Mexico. Another hit in the economy for us. With the Fiat nonsense, dealers who fell on the wrong side of the political fence were terminated. It didn't matter that there was enough to go around or that these dealers had been around since Walter P. Chrysler bought out Maxwell. Yea... let's put some more people in the unemployment line.
