Hey guys,

Today we bought this very nice 1967 New Yorker. It will be in good company of a 69 300, and 69 Fury. It´s in the Netherlands (Europe).
440/727, runs on gasoline and LPG (just installed by previous owner).
Question, what are those little gadgets for on the front bumper? Sensors for high beam and cars in opposit direction?
And a economic(?) gauge on the console? There is nothing economic to a 440 is there?
Some pics with numbers.

Great looking car.

I'm looking at the build sheet and the fender tag. Is there anything we can figure out here that we don't already know? Like figuring out which of the 2 and 3 digit codes on the build sheet correspond to particular items on the FT (if there are any that are not "known" to some or most of us?) How many examples of '67 build sheet have ever been posted?

Car has power antenna? AM/FM radio? Item 451 (brakes) = 1 means what?

@HWYCRZR note the rear leaf springs 256 / 255. I wonder how many leafs.

They are called kangaroo whistles here, they don't work, had them on a couple of cars and still hit a couple of roos.

Your 67 has paint code EC2. So originally had a dark blue painted roof with a medium blue body. Paint code C is a C-body only color that looks really nice. I had a 67 New Yorker that color.

I believe those are deer whistles, they create a very high pitch whistling sound that we can’t hear, but irritates deer, to avoid them damaging your car.
Yep, deer whistles. One of the most worthless things that they used to sell.

I was at a friend's body shop some years ago. There were a couple of cars that hit deer and they both had deer whistles. I laughed about it and he said about half the cars that came in for deer collisions had deer whistles.

How Effective Are Deer Whistles to Avoid Vehicle Collisions?

It's not unusual to hit a deer in this area... I've hit two, including one less than a quarter mile from home. Best thing to do is if you see a deer, lay on the horn. They will hear that.

Worthless in function but useful in that they’re very much period correct!

Thanks. Gauge for economic driving isn't it?
If memory serves me and I stand to be corrected, for the 440 in my 1968 Monaco, the ideal idle vacuum reading typically falls between 15 to 18 inches of mercury for ideal performance. If you are worried about "economic driving" consider a small block.

Ok, so the deer "horn" is a much better remedy to collisions ;-)
