Greetings fellow C Bodians !!

:welcome:
Glad you're here.
You're my kinda guy, btw...
You like low line post cars.
Sticks shifts as God intended.
We'll get along just fine.

Hey Commando, I'm also in FL a lil north of Tampa. Any good boneyards around here?

Ya that's exactly what it is. Also the shift pattern is backwards too, away and down for reverse, straight up for first, in and down for second, straight ahead for third. Weird. Oh well it's all going away soon.

Somebody trying to emulate the Dodge Brothers shift pattern?

Every once in a while I talk to a kid who works at a Boneyard in or very near Tampa but I'll be damned if I can remember any more info than that.
The kid is a real Mopar freak.
My personal experience is that I have only found one 1/8th-way decent pick n pull in Bartow. Pickins are extremely slim down here.
And absolutely nothing left with pre 1985 parts. Tampa is one of the biggest scrap metal ports so you know the rest...
There's nothing here that even comes close to the ones out west.

Shame this thread died........

Sorry guys I'm not a very good correspondent sometimes, but I have been on the receiving end of some helpful advice from some of you within other posts on here so thanks for that. Will post pics on the weekend. My 360 poly stroker is back home and dyno'd at just under 400 hp, Mcleod clutch w/ hydr throw out bearing and 833 4 speed are also there. TTI headers and exhaust have arrived, and new seat covers are on using OEM fabrics from SMS. Door panels are currently being done and headliner is here waiting. It's in the queue for body work and paint. Currently looking at options for steering and suspension and for rear gears. Trying to keep it as correct looking as possible with some beef under the hood.

View attachment 10791View attachment 10792Too bad, is Terry no longer here? I would sure like to see the progress on his I. I have the original dealer book that was with the papers to the car and according to the listing and picture of the material that is in both our cars it is code # L1B. I'll try to get a couple pic's of the book as soon as I figure out how to do it.

Thanks for that 1966Fury1. It is in fact L1B and i bought OEM fabric and vinyl from SMS. Seats are done as per factory and turned out great. Pretty much decided to go with WW1 off white on the exterior since that was available with L1B and my engine is bluish turqoise which will be ok in a white engine bay.

That's going to look great. I had no idea that the original interior trim could be had for our I's with that material being so unique to them. Your color combo's you have decided on should make your car look absolutely stunning when complete. I thought your door panels looked good already. Is there a company that can restore the soft trim onto the door panels? I believe the tops of doors had a little padding underneath of the vinyl. I am desperately looking to find some trim as well where the sun had damaged a small area of the back seat, and also need some of the thinner or finer lower seat material that wore very easily. Can't wait to see your car when done. Once I get mine out from storage and cleaned up for use this summer, I will be working to be getting it back into sound mechanical condition after all these years of non use. I will submit pic's of it when at that stage.

The company that supplied the original fabrics is SMS Auto Interiors in Canby OR. They are currently re doing my door panels. Here are a couple pics of the re covered seats done by a local shop.

I get it but in the end you're happier knowing its correct. That extra three months was a killer but worth it

But what bugs me is that if you are the only game in town and you are going to get the business anyways, why not be up-front about it? Or tell me 8 months and deliver in 7.

How long have you been waiting? They do nice work, but......it took 7 months for mine to be done.

I only shipped them off a couple weeks ago so sounds like I might be in for a wait. I arranged it back in the fall just didn't get them shipped so it's partly my own fault. They said the fabric was already done just waiting for the metal from my panels to finish them off.

The seats turned out really nice 1fury1 Thanks for sharing the photos. I'll be getting with them for individual pieces for mine.
