Having problems with motivation

My Dad had the job of shoveling coal on the old steamers back in the day. Here's a couple of pics of the train in Branson nice train not much of a ride though.

I got my first HO-scale train from my Grandpa when I was eight. Hung onto that, and when I had room in the family's basement, I took over one room with a 4x8 sheet of plywood on a frame, and started building! I ended up with perhaps 40 cars, and four engines before I went in the AF. Thanks to my Mom, she packed away everything when they sold the house right afterwards, and I got all my stuff back about 15 years later. I gave my oldest son the trains and track when he was 12. I built a nice table to set up everything about two years after that, and boy, did he start buying train stuff! It's all in the garage. He has two large shelf units full of stuff, plus the layout. He has another five engines and 30 cars on top of what I gave him.

It's been about a year since we've done anything on the layout, unfortunately. We set up a circle of track under the tree every Christmas; but this year, we're just not in the Christmas spirit. My Mom died a year ago Christmas Eve, so we just don't feel like doing anything this year - no tree, lights, or train.

Can't wait for 2014 to show up.

That's why I have more than one hobby/love/interest. Build a model instead, you'll feel better. For me it's toy train season. I'm spending the last few days of good weather putting the 300 to bed until spring, then I'm basement bound until April.
Beleive it or not I build models year round, usually after I get home from work, and have had diner and a shower, sit and watch a movie or TV and tinker on a small car, weekends or days before Diner after work I try and work on something for either of the real ones

My truck is showing it's age and abuse.

Was that 440/4 spd Fury for sale?
No it wasn't, wasn't a real 440 car either........it was nice though.

Went over to the Fury today with hopes of doing something which ended in shear frustration at the fact that the car is full of water, literally pools of water and all of my crap took a spill leaving me with a dented car and gas tank.............

Bummer, the flood we had in august did the same for me my 300m that i got for a steal and put a motor in now almost nothing works in interior and i don't want to mess with ready to drive to scrapyard i guess i extended it life for a few years.

Hoping I can suck it all up with a shop-vac, if not looks like I'll be drilling holes in my brandnew metal :BangHead:

If that isn't demotivating, I don't know what is.
Drain the water, walk away for at least a week. Have fun with a nurse. Works for me.
