head lights/brake lights

Just put a new motor in recently and I've noticed i have no head lights or brake lights. Motor is not currently running yet but what would cause this just changing motor besides the ground? I just have the ground from battery to block no extra ground yet anyway. No problems before motor swap so I'm not sure what would have caused it? Anybody ran into this? Engine does turn over so i know battery is good but no power other than that.

Ground cable from the battery normally has 2 wires, heavy wire to the block, smaller wire that I think is screwed into the rad support bulkhead to make connection to body ground. The engine and transmission will be isolated from chassis / body because of rubber mounts.

Ground strap for the body to the engine is on the firewall to one of the rear intake manifold bolts.
