Headliner help

maby the info is on here but searched and could not find it . But im looking for help with my head liner Bowes previous owner removed them and did not label them . I see there color coded but in What order do they go ? Thanx for any info ...68newport custom...

If you look, the retainers on the car should be marked with corresponding color. It may not still be there, or never was there, but it's worth a shot.

I've never had any out of a C-body, but they are all slightly different lengths and they get progressively shorter (IIRC) front to back.

This is the code for a B body if that helps.

Brown
Green
Blue
Red
Gray
Black

The color coding was faded and hard to decipher when I did the headliner in my 4DSD.

But I labelled them as I removed them.

There are pics of them laid out and installed in the headliner about half way down this page:

The front of the headliner is forward in the pics.

They were all about the same length but the "straightest" one was in front, and then more arc for each as you move to the rear.

And again, this is a 4DSD, 2DHT's have five bows. Haven't gotten into one of them yet.
