Im restoring my 71 new yorker and now installing the wires. There are 2 wires ( both black with white stripes that go to the Heater and A/C accessory feed (see attached diagram.) My new yorker has the tilt/teloscopic steering wheel and as such it has the separate wire with a bilt in fuse. This is the wire the book says should b used. With a std steering wheel the feed wire goes to the fuse box (heater A/C fuse.)

My new yorker has both feed wires. I dont understand the reasoning behind this. Wire experts fill me in.

Hello RWCearley, amazing, we are both restoring/repairing/fixing almost the same cars, at the same time, and i too am rewiring the wiring looms .
My 1971 NY is the same green as yours I believe, has tilt/tele steering wheel, 440, electric seats/windows, 2 door.
This week I have worked on all sorts of areas- front bumper rust treatment and sealing, fender turn signals restoration, parking/turn signals same, sealing of windscreen wiper crank/ arms box, install of repaired engine bay lighting loom, and on it goes... Are you in WA? I saw your adverts selling NY body panels.
I am just across the plain, in Sydney.
