Why are they dropping manufacturing cars in Oz anyways. Lots of cool stuff from there. Our Chevrolet SS is a rebadged Holden Commodore SS. Even got a cop packaged one.
It's too expensive to make cars here with a small domestic market. I once heard that metaphorically speaking it cost Ford $4 in Australia, $2 in Germany and $1 in Thailand to make a car so ... I brought my 2014 Boss 335 (KW - 450 HP) Falcon GT sedan to the 2014 MCACN show in Chicago and it seemed everyone asked why it wasn't sold in the states - basically, Elena Ford (Marketing Director) said no some years back believing they wouldn't sell a sedan instead of a coupe. Also Ford weren't allowed to develop a LHD Falcon variant unlike Holden so we were basically left with Australia/NZ/UK/South Africa as the markets. Ford shut last October, Holden this October and Toyota next year I believe, so vale the Aussie car industry. Why are they dropping manufacturing cars in Oz anyways. Lots of cool stuff from there.
