Hello from Norway, 1973 chrysler newport

Wow, first time I can honestly say that I disagree with you Stan. I think if your talking about the original colors that go on that car that a vinyl makes it more well... classy. Now, it you think classy is girly then then rock on brother. Of course this IS a "girls" opinion. :suning:

Big difference between muscular and "classy or "girly". Very few vinyl top cars look more muscular than the hardtop or "non vinyl top" version.

That option might be on the fender tag but should show up on the build sheet.

Dont know if the build sheet is still in the car, should it be under the rear or front seats?
Should there be turning lights in the same light, i mean it is amber in the front part... should the amber/turning light also function as a marking light? i think that would look cool!

I found the only one in my car in the springs of the driver's seat back. They can behind or under all seats, taped on top of the glove box, under the carpet, in the trunk, and few found them behind the bumpers.

Both lights will function together with the turn signal on.

Hmmm, I'll try to be gentle without offending anyone. (Not my intention) It is my opinion that all c-bodies are muscular. Be it with a vinyl hardtop or without. I will say that without the vinyl, the body looks like it goes on forever without a break or flaw. The vinyl is an added touch that only adds sleek attention to the body style. I've never seen vinyl on a c body that has distracted from the style in a nonmuscular way. IMHO (disclaimer) Time to go watch the Spurs take down the Heat. Have a great evening everyone. :)

Agreed! Thats exactly what originally attracted me to my Monaco 500. The 440 didnt hurt either.

Cool car. I like it with no vinyl top but I think I'd like it as much or more with a black top.

Decoded the fender tag today, has cornering lights!

Shouldn't the T be the engine code for the 440 ?

Looks like a parking permit. Likely owned by a Service Member. Yes?

Yes up until a few years ago all (or most) military bases had stickers like that which was basically a vehicle registration for the base. If you didn't have one you had to stop at the gate and get a temporary day pass. So everyone who worked on the base had those stickers on their bumper or windshield depending on the base rules at the location / time. The AF got rid of them several years ago and everyone now stops and has to show an ID upon entering the base. Vehicles owned by the military/government didn't have those, or didn't at bases I was at. They had GOV license plates to designate them as military owned.

Looks like sealift command was still using them recently based on the 12 but the other two stickers look pretty old.

That identification is for an Officer in the Navy. Military Sealift Command means he is in the Navy. The blue border on the top sticker designates Department of Defense and a Commissioned Officer. Red border (that I have on my cars) designates Enlisted personnel. Green border designates Department of the Defense civilian employees. Black border indicates Department of Defense Military Contractors. The 12 designates the year decal expires. I don't see a month decal.....different branches of the military do the decal thing differently.

Typical Commissioned Officer........too lazy or stupid to do the standard requirement the military demands of ALL of it's service members. He is required to scrape off the sticker and turn in the remains of the sticker to the Provost Marshall's office when you sell the car.
