Hello all. I do not have a C body yet but will be looking soon. I am going to be looking for a 1969 fury coupe . Don't care about what engine as it will end up with a 440. This will not be my first mopar however. As a kid in high school I owned a 66 coronet with a 273. I have also owned a 72 fury 4 door. I have very good memories of those cars. I do own presently a 1986 Dodge Omni GLHS and have owned it for some time as I restored it. I am so happy I found this forum and I plan on learning a lot here in preparation of getting my 69 fury!

Welcome..... I had to read your post to pronounce your handle correctly:eek:ops:

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

I had a GLHS Stick.

Insane little cheaply engineered shitbox that was overpowered.

Thanks for the welcome guys!! As for the statement above ,,,,,,I Agree!! It was a project that I started when my first kid was born and I would run down to the basement and work on it till Mom needed help! It was also the only car I could fit in my little garage and still work on it. I have souped it up in my resto. I had all the spot welds on the body seam welded and reinforced the K frame with 1/4 plate steel to keep it from pulling apart! I installed a Getrag geared tranny with custom axles and posi. The motor is the Mopar Super 60 package with a different wiring harness for a later computer. O ringed block ,,forged crank ,,ported,,big turbo,, bla bla bla... even a Viper fuel pump! A fun car for sure,,but not for everyone. I will say with my adjustable perch Koni shocks and super sticky max performance summer tires I would love to entice a Porsche owner or other make on the highway and have them try to follow me on an exit ramp,,,,,lol,,,what fun!!! But I want to get back to my roots when I was a kid. Enough computer crap. I want a carb or carbs,,I want a slightly lopey idle with 440+ cubes,,I want headers and exhaust with a deep rumble ,,I want massive torque. I remember growing up in Dearborn Michigan in the early 1960's just off Woodward Ave. I saw all kinds of modified cars but I was very young.. Anyways thankyou for your welcome and I am sure I will learn a lot here with your help.

I would love to see pictures of the GLHS, please.

Here she is this summer out of storage. Dusty and dirty but she started right up. I have some work to do . Mainly get rid of the racing clutch so it is more drivable. I have detuned it abit already with a milder cam. It is lowered alittle as you can see. It is a hoot to drive! In the past on the dyno she pulled 290 hp and 320 ft lbs at the wheels at 19 psi boost. Not bad for 135 cubic inches . She weights at just around 2000 pounds as Idid all I could do to lighten her up. I haven't had it on the road for any length of time in years. I think a fury would look nice in the garage next to her.

Very cool little hot rod. When you buy your fury, look for rust free unless it's far too cool to pass up. Rust free body panels for C-Bodies are tough to come by. Based on what you listed for your GLHS, you wont have many issues with the mechanical, electric side.

Thanks!! I agree completely about a rust free example and I am willing to pay good money for one. I don't care if the engine ,tranny is blown as long as it is rust free. I am very glad that fury prices are still within reason compared to it's siblings. But are prices going up lately on fury's? The 2 years that appeal to me are the 69 2 door or the 66 2 door.

I like the bigger cars but you may be able to find more parts for the 66. That's what it seems like to me but I'm trying to restore a 69 so I'm sure the grass is always greener. It seems that asking prices are rising but selling price is all that matters and that's a lot more difficult to track.

I bet that before he O-ringed the block and all the other work, "tur-BOOM-nee" was a pretty accurate description of the car. :)

Welcome aboard, Turboomi. I've only been posting here a couple weeks, but I've been Moparin' since I was a teenager in the 70s.
