Hello, Im new need help on heating issue on my 68 Polara

My Polara was heating up and spewing out coolant so I put in a recovery tank, new temp gauge and added Purple Ice to coolant and seems to be running at about 190 which is good and tank is helping out. HOWEVER, I noticed when I parked my car and turned it off the temp rises to bout 220-230 and takes a while to come down, what could be the issue? also has a lot of pressure on radiator hose. On same note when was driving and stopped at light it rose to about 200 but when ran it came down to 190....help?

Do some basic checks. Fan clutch working? Fan shroud installed & correct, correct radiator size, water oil mix, steem from exhaust after warmed up, when dead cold start car with rad cap removed. If coolant is circulating imeadiatly you have blow head gasket or cracked head. You are using antifreeze/anti boil ? Also water pump belt is tight ?

Also radiator fins are straight & not clogged with bugs or dirt. Radiator hoses correct & in good shape
