I picked up a factory 2x4 intake for my 318 poly and a few junkyard AVS cores. The carbs are all 4028SA, but some parts were missing. Between three cores, I almost have everything I need at this point, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy new tuning parts for the carbs, specifically the step-up springs. I still have the step-up rods, but I know these carbs were built for a chevy 327 single 4bbl. (In hindsight, I should've sprung for a pair of 500cfm Edelbrocks, but I've gotten this far, so I'm gonna try to see it through.)

I am going to get the TTI headers, and if I can get the $$ together I'll do a build like Gary Pavlovich's stroker build when the time comes. I already got the carb adapters and an Edelbrock progressive linkage.

Does anyone have any advice on selecting step-up rods/springs/jets for AVS carbs? I know there's an Edelbrock tuning kit. I want to know what a good starting point would be with this setup. I can't be the first person to use AFB/AVS on a poly 2x4 intake, right?

Sorry I looked and looked and couldn't find it. From memory was an older gentleman who had raced it for years. I think he posted maybe 6 months ago.

Anyone remember?
