Here's a hail of an idea

After almost two years, I finally figured out the significance of your forum handle...

We've talked about this before. I have made a living chasing hail storms & I could give you a list of the thousands of extremely satisfied customers who were thrilled to have my help. The only people who don't like me are the insurance companies since I don't let them strong arm my customers into accepting bullshit settlements.

If your home ever gets hit by hail, my industry-insider advice is to find a local, well established contractor with lots of experience settling insurance claims. Out-of-town storm chasers operating under their own name with no local backing should be a major red flag. Local contractors with no experience settling claims are an equally bad choice.

Ouch! That's my biggest fear on a 1200 mile, mostly unsheltered trip to Carlisle and back in the Imperial. I hope it's not too much of a hassle for you.

Geez, it would take hail the size of a Buick to dent an Imperial !

That's pretty low my stacks are just shy of 12' the cab roof is next in height, my cover and bows stick up higher than cab but they won't resist much, when the coil hits the underpass ouch! Only if it is a single though.

Well, almost a year to the day later, here we go again. Same two vehicles due for PDR again, along with a new roof on the house. I'm getting a little PO'd at this, as I am sure the insurance company is as well.

Peter I'm up north and the wife is riding horses in the mountains. Saw the tornado alert on tv and the pictures it looked nasty. Waiting for a report on my place. The Fury is about 10 miles east of town at my friends shop. Hope its inside. Sucks being away.

Watched it coming. Golf ball size and larger. Not much you can do about it, except get out the insurance company phone number.

Ya its a bad week for Gord Ironside my insurance agent. His brand new Challenger Hellcat with only 300 km is in the shop getting a new engine.

That sucks really bad. Sorry to hear of crap like this.

Yes we live in hailstorm alley. Happens every year. 2009 every house in town (pop 4000) and surrounding area had siding, roof, even windows replaced. Not to mention crop damage. Insurance company set up shop for 2 or 3 months fixing vehicles. Had metal roofs put on all my buildings that year so I hope they held up tonight. Our insurance rates are gonna get uglier.

Should be no issues with your roof. No dents on my 2dr. The new stuff just doesn't hold up to hail. I'm just at the airport to pick up my son. He won't be happy about his Jeep.

I was having some paintless dent removal done on a hail-damaged car several years ago. A local dealership got hit hard, and they had a 2006 KIA in that had over 200 dents from hail. It was cheaper to repair this using this method, than to replace panels and repaint. Took the tech two days to do the car; but once it was done (a black car, to boot!), you couldn't tell the car had ever been hailed on.
